Finding the perfect place to call your own often starts with choosing the right location. It’s all about the neighbourhood you might think…and you may be right. Perhaps not too quiet, but not too busy either. Walking distance from everything you need and want, but also easy to get around when you ride transit, bike or drive.
You need your favourite coffee shop to be close. A couple of good patios to have a drink at or restaurants to explore. But not just on evenings and late nights, cause you’ve got to have your brunch too! Add in the specialty stores that create the magic and you’re bound to find the right vibe.
Sounds like we’re good so far, right?
The neighbourhood does seem to be key. But what if you took something that’s just good and made it better? What if it was already great and you wanted it to be extra special?
So, you already got the neighbourhood in your back pocket, but what about the boutique building and the killer unit that brings it all together? Here comes the tough part. Let’s see what’s on the checklist.
Where could we find a unit that’s well appointed, spacious and has a reclaimed brick wall? With a master bedroom that is oversized, has its own en-suite bathroom and plenty of closet space. It’s a plus that it had a second bedroom. For the sake of having it or because it’ll come handy when we need it.
We’re not interested unless it has its own south-facing terrace and we need it to be extra bright. Like, windows everywhere!
The kitchen has to have those nice stainless steel appliances that include a gas range, ample quartz counter space and plenty of storage to fill it up with the usuals. Spending so much time at home this past year, you should have some cooking skills by now or gotten really good at ordering out :). I was forgetting to check that the parking is included. Oh wait, there it is!!
Perhaps not having amenities would be best, to keep the fees low. But a gym right in the building could be useful, a party room would be great if we could only use it and a courtyard with a BBQ could become handy with the warmer weather. It would be crazy if something like this became available for sale. Brick wall….pfft!
South facing terrace….HA! Imagine that. Getting this far, reading through all the great things that a neighbourhood like Leslieville could offer. Thinking of living in a boutique building such as sought-after Showcase Lofts, only to end up considering visiting unit 421 to take a look and see if all the hype is real.
Where is it that one has to click to book an appointment again? Oh, there it is!
P.S. The hype is real and this IS the one for you. Make haste. We won’t wait for you all week!
